Babies Moving

My plate is so full with all the things that is going on with my department now. But i just need to take a few minutes break as i think i am again feeling baby movements. I really do not know the difference whether it is just my stomach or my intestines or it is already the baby. But i definitely feel a strange movement down there everyday (just a certain time of the day). It is so hard to distinguish but it feels that there is something floating or swirling inside me. It is quite strange and i am unable to concentrate fully on what i do because of the unique movements.

How vain am i?

I got this from Gracita and i'm tagging myself (hehe).

You Are 77% Vain
You're a little vain, but you also work hard for your good looks.Just remember, everyone knows you are a total hottie. You don't have to remind them.

Ok, ok. I think here are the things that make me vain:

1. I have tried different kinds of diet. Kankunis when i was in college. Atkins when i worked in Hong Kong (definitely effective!). In fact, i do have 3 books on Atkins. I also tried Xenical (consumed 2 boxes) before the wedding combined with low carb diet and it really worked!

2. I do have quite a number of moisturizers and beauty products although i never end up finishing the bottle especially if i find a new one.

3. I had my braces months before the wedding but have it removed 2 weeks prior the wedding. I also underwent teeth whitening (Zoom) weeks before the wedding so i will have a perfect smile in the photos. I find it all worth it. :)

4. I like bags, shoes and clothes (who wouldn't?). I think one would never go wrong with a wardrobe from Mango and shoes from Charles and Keith. A bag from Mango or Nine West will complete the look. That, i am already happy.

5. If i haven't decided on what to wear, it will take me an hour to dress up, sometimes trying on 4 to 5 different attire before i finally decide on what to wear.

6. I change bags everyday depending on what matches my shoes and clothes.

18 weeks

Work

I just finished a long weekend. I took this day off for a well-deserved rest. It is already middle of the year, yet i still have 20days of vacation leave. Although, I intend do save most of it later in the year when possible. Last few days were tiring for me and so will the coming weeks be. We are soon deploying a new service (in 2 weeks time actually) and that means preparing for things to run smoothly and of course 9 new staff in addition to my current scope. In less than a month's time, we will also be implementing 2 new systems that will run globally. My hands are indeed full.
We've had major management change in our company. 3 big names in the Executive Board in Copenhagen will retire. Referring here the article from Bloomberg.com. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601085&refer=europe&sid=a4TQfagZHWNw
The blue blood in me (referring to Maersk blue and not Atenean blue as i am deeply green at heart haha) is somehow affected. I should better look for the picture i had with Jess Soderberg during our graduation in Copenhagen 5 years ago as that will become part of history - a good keepsake.
Pregnancy
I watched the National Geographic's 'In the Womb Multiples' last night. I have been waiting for that show for a month. It was a 2 hour show that was played from 9-11pm. Frankly, it did not meet my expectations. Most information are the same as what i have read (actually even better in the book). Well, i have learned nothing new. But the graphics was indeed a good visual aid.
Che and I went to the mall yesterday and although I was tempted to buy another blouse, i resists the temptation. I already bought quite a number of maternity clothes and i feel that I won't use them anyway in the next 4 months. My last purchase was from Havin a Baby last father's day where i bought an off-white pants and a white tube dress. But the usual Sunday visit with my parents also seem like a shopping spree too. Mom gave me a tight fit maternity pants that fits me well and a white linen drawstring pants. I also asked my youngest sister to gave me her 2 cute headbands (gold and brown). Hehe, parang nagdadalaga ako.
While having breakfast with my in-laws last Sunday, my mom-in-law commented that she thinks I am having a girl as i look beautiful daw. That was when i was in my pajamas. I got conscious. :)
Household help
We will finally be having our househelp later in the week. I never thought we would need one as Che and I are the only ones in the house. But if you are both working, it is really tiring to do household chores after work and on weekends. We think it will also be good to train the household help before our babies arrive. We will definitely need all the help we can get by then. I have heard a lot of not so nice things about having a companion at home. I really do hope that it won't be such a burden to us.

17weeks

I had my visit with my OB today. My weight gain since i started pregnancy is at 11lbs already. My OB said my tummy and uterus is already like 5-6months of singleton. My uterus is now an inch above my navel. Grabe! I should avoid sweets so i will not be having preterm delivery. Actually, i don't like eating sweets now anyways. If i do, it will be a spoonful of cake or 2 spoonful serving max.
My OB said i will definitely be on c-section and she doesn't want to risk any complication of a normal delivery for twins. Whew!
Oh, here's a picture of me at exactly 17 weeks.

Babies Moving?

I have always been curious about the feeling of baby moving inside you. My staff who just delivered her baby described baby's movement as 'like worms moving inside you' during the early part of pregnancy and 'like cats moving inside you' during the latter part of pregnancy. I just find it discouraging to hear my babies being compared to worms and cats. Haha.
I saw a video in youtube of a moving baby inside a belly and i can't wait to experience them as well.
I read in pregnancy books that i should be feeling something by now. Oftentimes, i can not distinguish whether it is my stomach growling or it is already the baby moving. Today, i felt some sensation. I just don't know what it is. Here is me hoping those were the babies movements...

I got a book!

While working inside my room, an officemate entered and gave me this book:

It comes with a note:
***
Dear Melissa,

I found this book suitable for you and Rommel. Enjoy reading.

Mel
***

I was deeply touched. Super! I wanna go home early and read the book!

Getting the attention

One thing i have noticed these days is that i am getting some wanted and unwanted attention in different places (well, especially in the office). I have received comments from people that i bump into:

- 'Uy ang laki na!' (referring to my tummy)
- 'You're really showing na ha'
- 'Ang cute mo magbuntis'
- 'Ang ganda mo ngayon ha!'
- 'Uy, naka maternity dress na'
- 'Blooming ka, siguro baby mo eh girl'
- 'Siguro you'll be having a boy and a girl, kasi lately blooming kayo tas may times, ok lang'.

Well, with all these attention, i do admit that i find myself more conscious on how i look. I wanna look at my best despite the bulging tummy. I never fail to wear make-up and perfume before going to the office or when meeting friends or family (before pregnancy, it depends on my mood).
I really do appreciate the nice compliments but if i receive comments that i am growing big, i do get affected (sensitive?! haha). I become more conscious and ask Che several times how fat i am. Then i would control/select what i eat.

Gut Feel

Do you believe in gut feel?

For some reasons, i feel one of my baby will be a girl. I can't tell/feel whether it will be girl and girl or girl and boy. Previously, I also had a slight feeling that we will have twins. At work, I also have this sort of gut feel whenever i will be offered a new position.

The feeling is strange. Well, we'll see...

Our Nest

Here's a pic of our living room when we just moved in to our current nest. This was taken last December. We moved some things around. The plants are now dead. Hehe. Our house is still a mess. I hope it can look as clean as it was before we moved in. Wink..

A second opinion

I went to my friend's OB-GYNE for a second opinion. The doctor is at Medical City who is a friend of our Ninang, our barkada's mom, who is an AVP at Medical City (Head Nurse).

It was an interesting visit. She did an IE, checked baby's heartbeat (using a doppler device), and i had a pap smear. I think she did more examination than my current OB. She also told me that my uterus is already under my navel and that my tummy is bigger than average preggy of my gestational age (mainly because i am carrying twins). My tummy looks really round now and all can already notice the change. Whew, i thought it was because of fats! At 12 weeks, when i went to my current OB, i was told that my tum tum is only due to fats. I was disappointed. :)

The visit was quite long. She asked me about my medical history, gave my husband some medical tips too and told me the do's and don'ts during pregnancy (at least those that i can remember):
- Avoid bananas and apple as it can make you more constipated.
- Milk is always good for the baby. Drink at least 1 glass a day.
- Use cocoa butter to prevent stretchmarks. (I am using it already)
- Use maternity binder/girdle/belt to help ease backpain. (We just bought one yesterday but will need to buy extras)

She also said that she does bikini cut mostly for her c-section delivery. This was the big difference with my current OB which is used to vertical c-section.

I am still torn whether to transfer OB. Well, well...
